When people say they think rapid prototyping needs example item one, I build example item one. Also, this wiki is supposed to get people involved in rapid prototyping, more specifically the helix. There is only one user of the helix, and maybe another one in a month or so.

People will find the site if there is enough content. A good wiki needs no advertisement or promotion.

I guess it informs us all about the world of rapid prototyping. It also gets people talking about improvements that can be made, and I take that and put it into action.

Increase awareness of rapid prototyping.
And I'm unsure on the second point…

Can you try to expand on this? :)

I guess it informs us all about the world of rapid prototyping. It also gets people talking about improvements that can be made, and I take that and put it into action. It took me almost 5 hours of searching to find the RepRap project. My problem now is that it would take most people 12 hours to find this site. Unless of course they search for " rapid prototyping tehraptor reprapper tech-diy automata extruder" which is unlikely. Ill see what Tehraptor thinks.

Alright. There are a number of things I have noticed about my sites. One: No one is on them. Two: They are filled with cobwebs. Three: They are collecting dust.

When Tehraptor first created the Rapid Prototyping Wiki for me, I never realized it needed to be updated for info to flow, or how important it is to DOCUMENT INFORMATION. Now I have the Rapid Prototyping Wiki, and Tech-DIY. They have both been Idle, collecting dust in a corner. I have a new horizon for this wiki. Of course, I cannot do this alone. I will work a little in the forum, and add a ton of new info. Anyone else, please help me out!!!

Also please note: If I can get these sites cleaned up, I will officially release the Helix 1.2 for other people to build. That will also speed up reasearch. I will sell the parts online, besides the reprap electronics, and use the profits for development. Helix 2.0 Automata is nearer than I thought.

As it turns out, the cable I used to link the machine to my computer is the wrong one. About 43 minutes ago I ordered the correct one. Tehraptor will not be happy, but this one is cheaper anyways. (the original one was $28, the new one is $6) The only problem is that the cable will arrive while I am on vacation. I will return in about six weeks from now. When I return, Helix 1.0 will work!

I co-opted a term from blogging. A page slug in blogging (and I'm sure other content managment software) is a url-piece that desginates a category or other section. For example, posts about widgets would be under :

www.blah.com/widgets/page.htm.

I used it to mean just the url of the page itself.

rp.wc.info/extruder rather than rp.wc.info/extruders.
